Love is like art; left off the canvas, left to stand asymmetrically against the wall of paintings or center floor, a sculpture for all to walk around, afraid to look or touch.

His lips touched the corners of my mouth
with the touch of an angel—
gently— and he took my hands in his;
and when his weight urged
my trembling hope,
he pressed just enough that
it made me feel alive.
Knowing him a thousand lifetimes,
with emotions as old as Eden,
he colored me with words of love and
I stood asymmetrically
against the wall of paintings;
he made me feel alive.
