POETRY: SELF-DECLAMATION

©Self-declamation

Mimi Wolske, June 2013

Each kiss from you is a

Symphony that plays on

My emotions;

Love with desire and trust

Following closely behind;

A dactyl.

Alone, speaking aloud,

Not yet wishing to converse

With you;

It was the custom of

Socrates and Luther…

Soliloquys…

I proclaim I am enraptured

Not by your words alone but by

Allocution.

You captured and enslaved me—

I indenture myself—I am

Surely possessed.
