BLOG — BLANK PAGES??

DID YOU KNOW when you post excerpts or short stories or poetry on other people’s blog sites or on your own, the E-pub companies’ (e.g., Amazon) bots recognize the text and then when compared to what they are publishing will question whether YOUR work is “pirated text”?

Of course every writer/author is thankful these ePublishers are being diligent in preventing pirating of our published work, so perhaps we need to reconsider permitting word-for-word book excerpts and reposting of our short-stories and poetry and use something more along the line of a “synopsis-type” take.

I would imagine the bots will pick up duplicate text if it is printed here or on google+ too–not sure, but better to be safe than sorry, don’t you think?

So, I won’t be publishing any more short stories or poetry of mine here or any excerpts from my books or from anyone who i interview.

It sort of makes you wonder, when excerpts from books like the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, whether the author was contacted with a notification that her books would be taken down since there seems to be so many places on the internet that provides the exact text as is printed in all three of her books…

NO MORE BOOK EXCERPTS

BLAME THE PIRATE SITES — NOT THE AUTHORS OR THE PUBLISHERS

I can only say it won’t leave you looking at blank pages here…mostly blogs and some book reviews and minor shorts and poems I will not be publishing.
